Russell Linderman, executive director of research of active pharmaceutical ingredients at Pfizer in the Global Research and Development division, will present "Art, Expertise and Design: Process Enabling in Early Drug Development" on Friday, Sept. 25, at 3:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Prairie Rose room.

According to Mukund Sibi, program director of the Center for Protease Research, Linderman has experience in both academia and industry that gives him a unique perspective. "He was a well-recognized professor in synthetic organic chemistry at North Carolina State University for more than 15 years. He then joined Pharmacia as a scientist in process chemistry. Currently, he is with Pfizer and applies his process chemistry skills to large scale manufacturing of therapeutics," Sibi says.

Linderman also is an esteemed member of the external advisory board for the Center for Protease Research at NDSU.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology. Refreshments will be served.
