Two Bison men’s basketball players were selected to the 2017-18 Academic All-Summit League Team as voted by the league’s faculty athletic representatives and sports information directors. Student-athletes were chosen based on their academic and athletic performances this season.

The team is headlined by NDSU’s A.J. Jacobson, a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America first team selection. Joining Jacobson is teammate Paul Miller.

Also honored were Oral Roberts University’s Albert Owens, University of Denver’s Jake Pemberton and South Dakota State University’s Reed Tellinghuisen.

This is the fourth consecutive Academic All-League honor for Jacobson and the third straight for Miller. Jacobson, from Fargo, graduated with a 3.99 GPA majoring in zoology and is working toward his Master of Business Administration. He is a Senior CLASS Award finalist.

A third team Academic All-America honoree in 2016, Miller is an accounting major from Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a 3.38 GPA.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of his team’s competitions.
