Student-athlete named to academic softball team

NDSU pitcher Jacquelyn Serticwas named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 6 Division I Softball Team announced May 10, and selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Sertic, a senior right-hander from Sparks, Nevada, is a two-time Academic All-District selection. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.

The two-time Summit League Pitcher of the Year maintains a 3.68 grade-point average majoring in zoology (pre-med). 

District 6 is comprised of student-athletes from Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution and be nominated by the sports information director.
