NDSU student-athlete on academic baseball team

NDSU outfielder Jayse McLeanwas voted to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 6 Division I Baseball Team announced May 10, and selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

This is McLean's first selection to the Academic All-District team, and he is the first NDSU baseball honoree since Tim Colwell in 2014. A redshirt junior from Great Falls, Montana, McLean maintains a perfect 4.00 grade-point average majoring in mechanical engineering.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.

District 6 is comprised of student-athletes from Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution and be nominated by the sports information director.
