NDSU Residence Life and the Volunteer Network are planning the fifth annual “Boo! at NDSU” Halloween children’s carnival and trick-or-treating event, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mathew Living Learning Center and various residence halls across campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

At the carnival, held at the Mathew Living Learning Center, student groups will host 18 booths where children can participate in games, crafts and Halloween activities. Costumes are encouraged. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

In addition, several residence halls across campus will be open for trick-or-treating in a fun and safe environment. Maps of the participating residence halls can be picked up at the carnival. Participating residence halls include Reed/Johnson, Weible, Thompson, Pavek, Seim and Sevrinson.

“NDSU students really enjoy interacting with the children and families, handing out candy and supporting the Fargo-Moorhead community,”saidJen Kacere, Residence Life assistant director for leadership development. “We look forward to having families join us for a fun-filled Halloween event.”

The carnival typically takes about an hour for children to take part in the activities at all of the booths. Parents are advised to allow additional time for trick-or-treating. Carnival activities are geared towards ages 10 and under, but all ages are welcome.

Parking will be available in the FA and HR lots north and east of the Mathew Living Learning Center.
