Isern elected vice president of association

Tom Isern, university distinguished professor of history, has been elected vice president of the Western Social Science Association. The association is a multi-disciplinary, international association that convenes every April in a western American city.

Isern previously has served as coordinator of the rural studies and New Zealand and Australian studies sections of the association and served on its executive council. He will assume the vice presidency following the 2010 meeting.
