Theta Chi earns 'bag of bucks'

An NDSU fraternity earned a “bag of bucks” from a City of Fargo program aimed at helping sandbagging volunteers help others in the community.

Theta Chi was one of the top five non-profit groups recognized by the City of Fargo in the “Denny’s Bag of Bucks program.” The program gives non-profits $75 for every 100 hours of sandbagging service.

Corey Loveless, president of Theta Chi and a junior math education major from Grand Forks, N.D., said the money will be donated to the YWCA of Fargo.

“It’s really cool to be a part of it. Fargo is our community, too, and we love to give back our fair share,” said Loveless.

Theta Chi is a social fraternity whose motto is “Assisting Hands.”
