Establishing overseas programs seminar planned

SHARE

As higher education becomes increasingly international, more universities are going global by establishing a variety of programs overseas. Creating an international operation brings a myriad of potential legal and operational pitfalls. It is important the right people are involved in decision-making and the right questions are being asked.

To assist in establishing more overseas programs at NDSU, the Division of Equity, Diversity, and Global Outreach will sponsor a virtual seminar, titled "Know Before You Go: A Roadmap for Establishing Overseas Programs," on Thursday, April 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Prairie room. The National Association of College and University Attorneys offers the virtual seminar.

Participants will learn about legal, practical and operational issues of establishing overseas programs. An experienced panel will share their experience in operating foreign programs and will highlight the potential pitfalls institutions can avoid with proper advance planning.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. For more information, contact Kerri Spiering, associate vice president for equity, diversity and global outreach, at 1-8166 or kerri.spiering@ndsu.edu.
