Wei Lin, associate professor of civil engineering, will present “An Engineer’s Glance at China-Past and Present, Growth and Change” on Sept. 23 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Century Theater as part of World iView sponsored by the Office of International Programs.

Lin recently completed his third trip to China with a civil engineering field experience class. The group visited many historical and engineering sites, participated in activities with Chinese students and had memorable cultural experiences. Lin and a panel of student participants will speak about their experiences and discuss changes that have taken place over the course of the three trips, including building of the Olympic Stadium, Three Gorges Dam project and development of the Beijing subway system. Panelists also will explore the importance of international and cultural experience for training future engineers.
