SHARE

The 800 Café will be serving "The Picnic Basket" themed lunch on Tuesday, March 22, and Thursday, March 24, in room 312 of the Family Life Center. Seating will be from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The meal will start with warm tomato basil soup as an appetizer. The main course will consist of a cold turkey tomato wrap made with a whole-wheat tortilla, oven roasted turkey, sliced tomatoes, basil and ranch dressing sauce. The wrap will be accompanied by a spicy black bean salad with lime peel, and basil and garlic vegetable pasta with balsamic vinaigrette topped with mozzarella cheese. Strawberry shortcake topped with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar will be served for dessert.

Dietetics students, Nikki Seaberg and Grace Norton, will manage the meal and their classmates will serve it.

The dining experience costs $7 per meal. Three-meal punch cards also are available for $20. Payment can be made by cash or check. Parking is available in the visitor lot on campus. Meals are available for take-out. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are preferred because seating is limited. To make reservations, contact Ronda Klubben at ronda.klubben@ndsu.edu or 1-7487.

The class instructor is Sherri Nordstrom Stastny, assistant professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences. Information about other upcoming meals can be found at www.ndsu.edu/hnes/department_restaurant.
