NDSU Libraries collects used books for good causes

SHARE

The NDSU Libraries are collecting any decommissioned or otherwise unwanted books from campus and shipping them to Better World Books in honor of National Library Week (April 10-16) and Earth Week (April 18-22).

The donation bins will be available until April 22 at the NDSU Main Library, Barry Hall Library, Architecture Library, Health Sciences Library, Institute for Regional Studies & University Archives and outside the Memorial Union

Better World Books is a for-profit social enterprise that collects used books and sells them online to raise money for literacy initiatives worldwide. They accept and sell a variety of books from textbooks and picture books to historical and pop culture books.

Since NDSU first partnered with Better World Books in 2009, NDSU Libraries’ carbon footprint has been reduced through reusing and recycling books. Additionally, NDSU Libraries has contributed to improving worldwide literacy through providing funds for Books for Africa.
