Alumnus named to College Football Hall of Fame

NDSU alumnus Mike Favor has been selected for the College Football Hall of Fame. Archie Manning, chair of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, made the announcement May 24.

Favor, BUS ’91, university studies, was a two-time All-America honoree for the Bison. A center for the squad from 1985-88, he was a member of three NDSU Division II national championship teams. Favor is principal of Robbinsdale Cooper High School in Crystal, Minn., and lives in Maple Grove, Minn.

He becomes the fifth Bison player or coach to be inducted, joining former head coach Gilmour Dobie, defensive back Joe Cichy, quarterback Jeff Bentrim and former head coach Darrell Mudra.

Favor and five other members of the 2011 Divisional Hall of Fame Class will be inducted during the enshrinement festival July 15-16, in South Bend, Ind.
