Seinquis Leinen has been named director of admission at NDSU.

She was selected for the position following a national search. Laura Oster-Aaland, vice provost for enrollment management, said Leinen’s experience with admission and recruiting at three institutions, as well as her demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead a team make her well-suited for the director role.

“Seinquis has established strong relationships across campus and is well respected within the Office of Admission,” Oster-Aaland said. “She has a deep understanding of the history of admission at NDSU while also embracing new strategies to expand our reach. I have no doubt she is the leader we need to move NDSU forward in the recruitment of undergraduate students.”

Leinen has 10 years of higher education experience. She started her career as an enrollment services representative and multicultural programs coordinator at the University of North Dakota in 2011 and also worked in admission and recruitment at Minot State University. She joined NDSU as multicultural recruitment coordinator in 2014 and became assistant director the same year. Leinen was named associate director in 2015 and appointed interim director in October.

“It’s a dream come true to be taking on this role at a place that has been so impactful on my life for the last seven years,” Leinen said. “I look forward to leading our dedicated admissions team, collaborating with campus and community partners, and prioritizing the diverse needs and interests of future NDSU students.”

Leinen earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology at the University of North Dakota and Master of Education in education administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
