4 NDSU students killed in I-94 crash

Four NDSU students were killed in an accident near Alexandria, Minn., Feb. 20.

The students were Jordan Playle, a first year student in marketing, from Elk River, Minn.; Danielle Renninger, a first year student in marketing, from Excelsior, Minn.; Lauren Peterson, a first year student from Prior Lake, Minn.; and Megan Sample, a first year student in apparel, retail merchandising design, from Rogers, Minn. 

Peterson lived in North Weible Hall. Playle, Renninger and Sample lived in Sevrinson Hall.

“The NDSU community is deeply saddened by the loss of our four students,” said Prakash Mathew, vice president for student affairs. “On behalf of the NDSU community, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to their families and friends in the Twin Cities area and at NDSU.”

Mathew said NDSU is providing care and support through the counseling center to students, faculty and staff who are affected by this loss.
