NDSU’s landscape architecture study abroad program is featured in the latest edition of The Field, The Professional Landscape Architects’ Network. The online journal is written by members of the American Society of Landscape Architects’ Professional Practice Networks.

The article, “NDSU Landscape Architecture Abroad,” was submitted by Kathleen Pepple, assistant professor of architecture and landscape architecture, after a successful term in Angers, France, in 2012.

“As we embarked on our first specifically landscape architecture three-month term in Europe, I think we felt at NDSU that this academic venture would reap rewards for all of us that we could only hope for as we anticipated our flights to Europe,” Pepple wrote. “National and International ASLA have both placed much emphasis on term abroad programs in the last few years, as technology has brought much of the world into more clearly defined collaborative focus; the cultural, historical, personal and academic learning opportunities that trips like these provide cannot be overestimated.”

The program’s next term abroad is scheduled for spring 2014 in Ghent, Belgium.

The article can be found at thefield.asla.org.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
