Office of University Compliance
At North Dakota State University, we are committed to fostering a culture of integrity, accountability and ethical conduct. The Office of University Compliance supports NDSU’s mission as a student-focused, land-grant, research university by ensuring that our university operations, programs and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations and institutional policies.
Our office partners with faculty, staff and students to promote ethical decision-making, reduce compliance risks and strengthen trust across the university community. We provide guidance, education and resources to help the NDSU community understand and meet its compliance responsibilities.
Our Areas of Focus
Policy and Regulatory Compliance
Interpreting and implementing federal, state and university requirements.
Advising
Partnering with campus officials on operational compliance needs.
Legal Coordination
Collaborating closely with the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office, which provides legal services to NDSU.
Ethics and Reporting
Acting as a channel for reporting concerns or potential violations, including working with the North Dakota System Office on responding to fraud-related reports.
Investigations
Conducting investigations into alleged wrongdoing and supporting other areas of campus with their investigatory duties.
Risk Management
Identifying, assessing and mitigating compliance risks across university operations.
Education and Training
Providing compliance education and training to support informed, ethical decision-making.
Public Records
Processing NDSU’s public records requests.
Alcohol Requests
Processing alcohol exception requests for events held on the NDSU campus.
