Core Research Facilities

RCA Core Research Facilities (NDSU Department 4350) comprises two central multiuser facilities: the Materials Characterization, Analysis, and Fabrication (MCAF) Core and the Electron Microscopy Core (EMC). The Core Research Facilities team also provides oversight for premises managed by RCA including buildings Research 1 (R1), Research 1 Addition (R1-A), and Research 2 (R2) in the NDeavorâ„¢ Barry D. Batcheller Tech Park.

EMC and MCAF provide fee-based service available to NDSU faculty, staff, and student researchers in all disciplines, and to external academic and industry users. Equitable access and professional staff with many decades of experience in operation and maintenance of sophisticated instrumentation define these as true University Core Facilities.
