Veggies for the Pantry
Veggies for the Pantry encourages local gardeners to donate their extra garden produce at our convenient locations for transport to food pantries. Please wash your hands before harvesting and deliver your items in a clean container. You can find us at locations below from 6:30-7:30pm each Monday beginning in Mid-July until the Monday following the first frost. Check back here for updated collection dates.
Produce donated on Monday evenings will be delivered to Emergency Food Pantry and Dorothy Day Food Pantry by our team of Extension Master Gardeners on Tuesdays. This is a great opportunity to help those in need in our area, support the the work of NDSU Extension, and end the home-gardeners plight of too many cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, and peas!
2025 Collection Data
Trinity Lutheran in Moorhead was about one ton ahead of The Bowler in Fargo on October 7th but a collosal squash donation on October 13th pushed The Bowler into the lead in mid-October. In the end, THE BOWLER collection location won bragging rites for the season, donating over 14,500 pounds!
The 2025 total donations reached 28,811 pounds of fresh garden produce. Our ninth year was our most fruitful yet, beating our 2023 record of 22,900 pounds.
Looking Toward 2026
In 2026, Veggies for the Pantry will celebrate its tenth year! We'll be unveiling a 10 year anniversary logo and announcing ways you can help us celebrate!
