Student Organizations

Student Organizations & Clubs

When you find your people, college is way more fun (and a lot less overwhelming). Joining a student organization is hands down one of the best ways to make friends, explore your interests, and build real-world experience that stands out to employers.

Whether you’re into investing, entrepreneurship, leadership, tech, or just trying something new – there's a club for you in the College of Business.

Accounting Club

Accounting students, this is a must! As a member of the Accounting Club, you will build your networking skills while spending time making great friends in the profession. Throughout the year, you will have a chance to explore careers in Accounting through the following events:

  • Guest speakers
  • Spring trip to the Twin Cities (we visit several accounting firms)
  • Meet the Firms (annual networking event with employers)
    • MARK YOU CALENDAR: Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 | 4pm - 7pm | Barry Hall
  • Accounting Club Banquet (Door prizes, awards and good food!)

Each meeting includes interesting news from the accounting field, information on upcoming events, as well as, pizza and pop. It’s a valuable organization to include on your resume and may be a key to your college success. If you’re an Accounting major, we urge you to take part in the Accounting Club!

Bison Fund

The Bison Fund is a student-run investment group where we don’t just talk about investing—we do it. Our groups manages over $3 million in real money, gaining hands-on experience researching stocks and making actual investment decisions. Along the way, you'll build skills employers want, connect with industry professionals, and attend major finance events to grow your network and stand out.

New members begin by updating financial models and monitoring earnings calls of the companies we are currently invested in. More experienced members will conduct research on new companies, contact management, and build new financial models.

Between earnings season, our meetings are spent developing networking skills, hosting resume and cover letter workshops, providing assistance with LinkedIn, and bringing in guest speakers from the industry.
