Professional Development VS CEUs
At NDSU we refer to all classes educators take to stay updated in their field as K-12 professional development classes. Sometimes these classes are called CEUs, continuing education for teachers or continuing professional education credits. When you take a K-12 professional development course through NDSU your course and grade go on an official transcript that we maintain rather than receiving a certificate of attendance that you are required to keep track of. By keeping all your courses on one transcript you can simplify the license renewal process and save a bit of money not ordering multiple transcripts from multiple schools.
Who We Serve
We serve all individuals nationwide who work in the K-12 education system which include teachers in:
- a regular ed classroom,
- special education,
- art,
- music,
- STEM,
- physical education, and more.
We also serve:
- school counselors,
- coaches, and
- administrators.
Individuals who work with youth in the K-12 education system, daycares, youth outreach programs, and other extracurricular activities are also invited to enroll in these courses.
Course Level
All classes listed are at the graduate professional-development level, which means they are graduate level but are not eligible for use on a master's program of study. These courses go through a rigorous review process and are taught by content experts who have no less than a master's degree and often have earned a Ph.D. Our professional development courses are affordably priced so educators can continue to meet their professional development goals.
NDSU strongly recommends you seek approval from your school, district, or licensing entity prior to enrolling in the course of your choice.
Accreditation
NDSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and K-12 professional development courses are approved through the academic departments and colleges at NDSU.
