Herd U courses are held on NDSU campus.

Herd U offers morning and afternoon sessions each day, with new sessions starting each week. Families can choose to register their child for a single session, a full week, or multiple weeks—whatever works best for your schedule and your child’s interests. Many learners choose to attend one or both sessions each day, and some return for all three weeks of programming.

The fee for each class is $120.00, which includes all necessary materials. However, some courses may require additional equipment or items. Any added requirements will be clearly outlined in the course description.

A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance must be paid in full by the specified date in order to maintain your registration. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your spot in the session.

Each Herd U session is thoughtfully designed with specific age groups in mind. Courses will indicate their intended grade level in the description—most are structured for K–2 or grades 3–6 to ensure content is developmentally appropriate, interactive, and meaningful for each age group.

Students who are registered for both a morning and afternoon session are welcome to stay on campus over the lunch break at no additional cost. During this time, Herd U staff will supervise students, escorting them to a designated eating space and then back to AG Hill for rest and play before their next session begins.

Lunch is not provided, so learners are encouraged to bring a bag lunch. There are also a few on-campus dining options available nearby, with meals typically ranging from $5–15 (e.g., pizza, sandwiches, and more at the Memorial Union).

If you wish to visit a class, please contact the Herd U staff. If the class includes a presentation or display, Herd U staff will communicate the details.

If your child needs to miss or leave class early, please notify the Herd U staff prior to the class. Refunds will not be given for missed days or conflicts with your registered session.

Student registration fees are required to offset the costs of providing a course. Herd U reserves the right to cancel a course if a minimum student enrollment number is not met. If we cancel a course, participants will receive a full refund. We will work with families to find another class in the event of cancellation.

To be considered for a refund (minus the $50.00 deposit), requests must come at least 7 days prior to the start of the program.

All refund requests should be sent to ndsu.herdu@ndsu.edu

No refunds or credit will be given once a course begins. This includes missed days/classes.

For all cancellation/refund questions, contact the Herd U office by email ndsu.herdu@ndsu.edu or by calling 701-231-6404.
