Sport Management Program Information
Students selected into the professional programs are listed as having professional status and are eligible to enroll in previously restricted courses.
All transfer students (from other institutions or from other programs on campus) must complete a program application in order to be considered for professional status. Transfer students must be accepted into the professional program before they can enroll in HNES restricted courses.
The following courses are restricted to Sport Management professional status students:
HNES 224 - Event Management in Sport
HNES 226 - Socio-Cultural Dimension in Sport
HNES 304 - Sport Promotion and Public Relations
HNES 426 - Sports and Recreation Internship
HNES 431 - Governance, Policy, Legal Liability and Ethics in Sport
HNES 436 - Contemporary Issues in Sport Management
HNES 485 - Sport Management Internship
Upon admission into a professional program students will pay program fees each semester until graduation. Program fees are used to purchase new equipment and supplies, support student travel to professional conferences, provide funding to hire lecturers as needed, and other activities designed to benefit students and student learning. The program fee for Sport Management is $285/semester.
The SM Application for Spring 2017 may only be used with the approval from Mr. Tyler Tracy. All Freshmen planning on applying to the Sports Management program must submit the SM Application for Fall 2017.
