Dennis Cooley, professor of philosophy and ethics, is set to give a presentation during the International Academy of Medical Ethics and Public Health's executive board meeting and bioethics seminar, scheduled for Jan. 6-9, 2019 at the University of Paris-Rene Descartes.

The Northern Plains Ethics Institute at NDSU, of which Cooley is director, holds the organization’s Secretary Generalship. Cooley will present a paper on genetically engineering future generations, and also will plan additional bioethics seminars around the world and finalize the 2019 IAMPH Rome conference.

The IAMPH's work is being recognized by a French senator, who will host a dinner for the organization’s board in the French Senate's Luxembourg Palace.

Cooley earned his bachelor’s degree at SUNY at Geneseo and his master’s degree and doctorate at the University of Rochester.
