Student resources: Wallman Wellness Center

The health and wellness of our students is a top priority at NDSU, and that’s the focus of our state-of-the-art Wellness Center. Located within walking distance on campus, you can strength train, participate in group fitness classes, rock climb, swim or simply relax in the hot tub next to the indoor fire pit. There is an activity for everyone’s interest.

“There are so many health benefits that result from engaging in regular physical activity,” said Jobey Lichtblau, Wellness Center director. Studies show that exercise helps improve and maintain a healthier state of mind such as improved mood, sleep patterns, stress reduction and social well-being. Good physical and mental well-being contribute to academic success.”

The facility offers everything from the latest fitness equipment and classes to innovative recreation, intramural, and aquatic programming. The Wellness Center also has a high quality child care service that assists undergraduate and graduate students with their educational pursuits. The building also is home to the Student Health Service.

It’s easy for students to sign up---just download the NDSU Wellness Center app or visit the Wellness Portal to register for personal training, safety education classes, facility reservations or apply for employment opportunities.

As you have fun, you’ll also learn. The center promotes the 7 Dimensions of Wellness, a culture of life-long wellness through body and mind. The NDSU Wallman Wellness Center is a great place to focus on health well-being, compete in intramural sports and learn healthy behaviors that will last long after graduation.
