The NDSU baseball team earned the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award for the third straight season. NDSU was the only Summit League school to earn the honor.
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award honors high school and college programs coached by association members that post a GPA above 3.0 for the current academic year. The Bison had a 3.522 cumulative GPA for the 2019-20 academic year, including a record 3.61 GPA in the spring semester.
The American Baseball Coaches Association has a tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949. The association's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/Diamond Sports Regional and National Coaches of the Year, ABCA Hall of Fame and Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
