The NDSU women’s golf team had five student-athletes named All-American Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association for the 2020-21 season.

Student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA to earn the award.

Bison senior Alexis Thomas and junior Taylor McCorkle earned the award for the fourth straight season, and junior Lexi Geolat was honored for the second time. NDSU freshmen Catherine Monty and Holly Murphy also received the recognition following their first collegiate seasons.

The 2020-21 season marked the 12th straight year that NDSU has had at least two student-athletes named to the team.

Thomas, from Middleton, Wisconsin, finished her collegiate career ranked sixth in NDSU history with a scoring average of 78.44 over 91 rounds.

McCorkle, of Oregon, Wisconsin, ranks third in NDSU history in career scoring average at 76.76.

Geolat, from Lake City, Minnesota, posted a 79.68 stroke average this year to rank second on the team. She also was voted to the Summit League Academic All-League Team.

Monty of Stillwater, Minnesota, ranked fourth on the team for stroke average in her freshman season.

Murphy, from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, played 10 rounds for NDSU this season, finishing eighth at the Maverick Invitational on Oct. 13.
