The Sheila and Robert Challey Institute for Global Innovation and Growth at NDSU has announced spring speakers for its interdisciplinary workshop on Human Progress and Flourishing.

The Challey Institute is set to host seven research seminars by renowned scholars from universities across the country. The series is free and open to the NDSU community and the public. Seminars will focus on solutions and policies that contribute to opportunity, innovation and individual and societal flourishing.

The workshop is scheduled every other Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Beckwith Recital Hall. Virtual attendance is available, though participants must register on Zoom. After each presentation, the speaker will answer questions from the in-person and online audience. Food will be served in the Challey School of Music Atrium.

“This series brings a number of high-caliber researchers to NDSU to share important insights at a level that is accessible to students and the general public,” said John Bitzan, Menard Family Director of the Challey Institute.

The workshop is available as a one-credit course (BUSN 491/690) for undergraduate and graduate students. The course introduces students to multi-disciplinary ideas and engages in biweekly discussions. The workshop is led by Clay Routledge, Arden and Donna Hetland Distinguished Professor of Business and Challey Institute scholar.

“In a diverse and dynamic society, it is critical for students to learn about different challenges we face and different viewpoints regarding how to make progress on these challenges. It is also important for students to think about how they can contribute to solving big, global challenges,” said Routledge. “The workshop series was created to serve these goals at NDSU.”
