The NDSU women’s golf team had six student-athletes named All-American Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Lexi Geolat, Catherine Monty, Leah Skaar, Elise Hoven, Maddie Herzog and Jo Baranczyk were named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team.

Geolat earned the honor for the third time after finishing her career with a 78.73 average over five seasons, which ranks ninth in NDSU history. She logged three top 25 finishes last season and was named to the Summit League All-Academic Team.

Monty also picked up the honor the second time in her career and contributed four top 20 finishes last season. The Stillwater, Minn., native registered a 77.43 over 30 rounds and posted a team-best 16th place finish at the Summit League Championship.

Skaar, Hoven, Herzog and Baranczyk all earned the award for the first time in their careers. Skaar paced the Bison last season with a team-best 76.50 average over 27 rounds and notched a team-high four top 10 finishes. The Gold Canyon, Ariz., native was also named to the All-Summit League Second Team and Summit League All-Academic Team earlier this year.

Hoven averaged 77.40 over 30 rounds in her freshman season and contributed two top 25 finishes, while Herzog averaged 77.52 over 27 rounds last season and totaled three top 25 finishes. Baranczyk closes out the group after firing a 77.21 over 24 rounds with three top 25 finishes in her first season.

Under head coach Matt Johnson, the Bison have had at least two student-athletes named to the team each of the last 13 seasons. Student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA to earn the award.
