NDSU staff senate leadership elected

Election of NDSU staff senate leadership recently concluded for the next academic year.

Newly elected senators are Thomas Abbey, Barb Davis, Nazrin Ferdousi, Aleisha Lokken, Tamra Schmidt McCullough, Brandon Schutz, Ethan Smith, Sheila Tindall, and RoseE Hadden. Senators are elected for a two-year term.

Staff senate also elected Kay Hopkins as president and she will serve one year as president-elect before becoming president the following year. Also occurring at the meeting was a transition in the president role from Fred Hudson to Kristi Steinmann, who will serve as president over the next 12 months.

Shiloh Susag was elected secretary; and April Helgaas, MD Sharijad Hasan, and Corey Landowski were elected as members at large.

Senators were also elected for positions on various NDSU committees. Jennifer Young, Thomas Abbey, MD Sharijad Hasan will serve on Campus Space and Facilities; Alicia LaFerriere on Library Committee; Corey Landowski and Jenna Reno on University Athletics Committee; Emily Vieweg on Learning Space Advisory Committee; and Ethan Smith on the IT Committee.
