Seeking Faculty Research Fellows

This opportunity is now closed (10/13)

RCA is seeking eight faculty fellows to serve as strategic connectors and thought leaders on four NDSU emerging research priorities. These fellowships are the result of work done over the summer by the NDSU Deans and the Research and Creative Activity Leadership Team regarding visioning and collaborative strategies to support and grow NDSU research and scholarly activity.

These fellows will work across departments and colleges to leverage the priorities to drive opportunities for NDSU researchers by catalyzing interdisciplinary collaborations, fostering innovation, and distilling the emerging research priorities into areas of investment.

Fellows will receive a budget of $10,000 over a one-year term to support the key responsibilities as outlined in the application.

Background
This past summer NDSU Deans and the Research and Creative Activity Leadership Team held facilitated discussions on visioning and collaborative strategies to support and grow NDSU research and scholarly activity. The discussions centered on aligning goals and identifying key strategic opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and research growth; aligning resources and funding strategies; and establishing actionable steps for moving forward.

As part of this process, four research themes emerged as areas for cross-college collaboration:

  • Materials Research and Development
  • Precision Agriculture/AgTech
  • Rural and Community Health and Biomedical Sciences
  • Stewarding the stories, places, and people of ND

Refer to NDSU Emerging Research Areas for more details about each theme.
