X-ray
X-ray imaging is available in Student Health Service (SHS). Imaging requests must be ordered by a medical provider. Students can schedule an appointment with a SHS provider who can place x-ray orders if deemed necessary for a patient's care.
X-ray orders from external facilities are accepted as long as the following information is included on the order:
- Date of order
- Ordering provider's name printed and signed
- CPT code of x-ray exam to be performed
- Reason for exam
- Diagnosis code
- Instructions where to send final report
Digital X-ray Technology
Digital x-ray images are completed using computed radiography (CR) technology. X-ray images can be burned to a CD by patient request. Patients need to fill out an Authorization to Release Medical Information form.
X-ray Reports
All x-ray images are professionally read by a licensed Radiologist. A final report is available for all imaging studies and can be sent to the student via secure message through the Student Health Portal.
Staffing
The x-ray department is staffed by licensed Radiologic Technologists. Current staff can be found on our Staff Directory page.
Other Imaging Services
Advanced imaging services such as MRI, CT, mammogram, ultrasound or other specialized imaging will need to be referred to an external facility in the community who has this equipment. If a student is seen in SHS, our providers can place these imaging orders and we can help arrange the appointment with the student through a referral process.
