The Northern Crops Institute on the NDSU campus recently hired David Boehm as technical manager.

Boehm will be in charge of overseeing safety programs for NCI staff in addition to maintaining facilities and equipment, planning mid- and long-term capital improvements and coordinating services and project updates with staff and clients.

“I am excited to be working with the different crops grown in this market, and seeing what we can do for customers that use them,” Boehm said. “Enhancing recipes, adding our commodities into different mixes and helping bring new food products to the market – it’s exciting to follow food trends and find a way for our region’s farmers to benefit.”

Boehm is an NDSU alumnus, with bachelor’s degrees in plant science and mass communication, and a master’s degree in plant science. He was recently research and development manager for SESVanderHave Sugarbeets and was responsible for research and breeding activities within the United States. Previously, he was key account manager with Syngenta and regional business manager with AgriPro Wheat and has held agronomy and communication positions with ConAgra and the North Dakota Grain Growers Association.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
