Human resources director named

Mark Genkinger has been selected as NDSU’s director of human resources following a national search. He began his new role on Aug. 23.

Genkinger has more than 33 years of experience in human resources leadership, coaching and mentoring employees and management.

“We are very pleased that Mark is bringing his diverse experience and talents to NDSU,” said Bruce Bollinger, vice president for finance and administration. “We look forward to utilizing his expertise and skills as we further develop our employees and enhance NDSU as the employer of choice for Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo and the region.”

Genkinger worked most recently as manager of talent acquisition at the University of Colorado-Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. While there, he managed a team that provided job evaluation and recruitment services to the schools and departments on both the Denver and Anschutz Medical campuses.

Prior to that, he was director of human resources at Denver Health, Denver; human resources consultant for Employers Council, Denver; human resources manager at Terumo BCT (formerly Gambro BCT), Lakewood, Colorado; and human resources manager at Standard and Poor’s Compustat, Littleton, Colorado.

“I am excited about this tremendous opportunity with NDSU to lead its human resources organization,” Genkinger said. “I am looking forward to meeting and working with many of you as I integrate myself into the NDSU campus.”

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and has his Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from HRCI.
