Renowned educator to give NDSU talk

NDSU's School of Education, the NDSU Women and Gender Studies program and Northern Plains Ethics Institute are set to host a talk by educator Ranjitsinh Disale titled "Barriers and Solutions: Equity and Accessibility in Education."

The presentation is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center Atrium at 2 p.m. The presentation will be followed by a meet and greet. Light refreshments will be served.

The talk will address barriers that underserved populations face globally.

Disale is a 2022 U.S. Fulbright recipient and the winner of the 2020 Global Teacher Prize, sponsored by the Varkey Foundation.

Known for his innovative ways of teaching and use of QR codes in his classroom, Disale has helped students in remote Indian villages overcome challenges of poverty, language barriers and teenage marriages. He was appointed a brand ambassador for the State Innovation Society by the government of Maharashtra, education advisor for the World Bank and climate action program advisor for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

He has presented at venues around the world on topics such as girls education, technology, peace education, innovation and elevating educators.
