January Innovation in Teaching Award recipients announced

NDSU’s Office of Teaching and Learning presents a monthly Innovation in Teaching Award to recognize instructors for their efforts to improve teaching and learning on campus.

In January, five individuals were nominated. Several recipients were nominated multiple times, with one recipient being nominated by 10 individuals. All nominees for January received awards.

The list includes:

• Christopher Colbert, associate professor in chemistry and biochemistry

• Jamie Chen, assistant professor of practice in management and marketing

• Jun Chen, assistant professor in transportation, logistics, and finance

• Syeed Iskander, assistant professor in civil and environmental engineering

• Wenjie Xia, assistant professor in civil and environment engineering

Award recipients receive special recognition from NDSU President David Cook’s office along with a small gift. All nominees will be entered to win one of several $100 gift cards to be given out at the annual Teaching and Learning Conference on May 23.
