Rong Stephanie Huang, Ph.D.

Dr Huang earned her Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2005, specializing in clinical pharmacy, and completed her postdoctoral training from University of Chicago, IL. She started her career as an assistant professor at the university of Chicago, IL in 2010. Currently, Dr. Huang is a professor at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, University of Minnesota and an Associate Director for the Institute of Personalized Medicine Pharmacogenomics U of M Alliance (PUMA-IPM). Dr Huang’s main research focus is translational pharmacogenomics with a particular interest in the pharmacogenomics of anticancer agents. By systematically evaluating the human genome and its relationships to drug response and toxicity. Dr. Huang is a member of different cancer associations, the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota, American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), and American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT). Dr. Huang serves on the editorial board of Annals of Translational Medicine and Frontiers in Pharmacology. To date, Dr. Huang has published over 90 peer-reviewed research papers many of which are in high caliber journals.

Dr. Huang has been awarded with prestigious awards, Aflac Scholar-in-Training Award for American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) in 2006, The first recipient of the CSCR Featured New Investigator Award in 2012, CTSI Mentor of the Year nomination in 2020 and University of Minnesota COGS Outstanding advisor award in 2021.
