Haley Hamel Joins NDSU as Director of Operations for Academic Affairs
North Dakota State University has named Haley Hamel as Director of Operations for Academic Affairs in the Office of the Provost. She begins her role on March 23, 2026.
The Director of Operations position provides operational leadership for the Office of the Provost and supports the coordination of initiatives across Academic Affairs. The role focuses on strengthening internal communication, aligning operations with university and North Dakota University System policies, and ensuring that academic priorities move efficiently from planning to implementation.
Hamel brings more than a decade of experience in higher education operations at a research-intensive land-grant university. Most recently, she served as Director of Business and Operations at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she advised senior leadership, managed complex budgets and administrative functions, and led cross-college initiatives to improve business processes and organizational efficiency.
In her role at NDSU, Hamel will help develop and maintain operational systems for Academic Affairs, coordinate executive briefings, and support major initiatives across the division. She will work closely with deans, department leaders, and administrative partners to strengthen communication and ensure that shared priorities are implemented effectively.
Over the coming weeks, Hamel will meet with faculty and staff across colleges and units as part of her onboarding.
"I am confident Haley will be an excellent partner as we continue strengthening the systems, coordination, and communication that support our faculty, students, and programs," said Provost Shari R. Veil.
