Compliance Information - 8/20/20

Hello NDSU students!

We’re so excited to welcome you back to campus, but like most of you, also a little nervous.  This fall will be unlike any other, and we need everyone to do their part!  This message is a reminder of what NDSU needs from each of you to make the semester successful.

First, do your part to #ProtectTheHerd by following the guidelines for face coverings and social distancing.

Treat everyone at NDSU with respect and kindness.  If someone is not following guidelines, please follow this process:

  • Give a kind reminder of the policy.
  • If that doesn’t work, request that the person distance themselves from you and/or put on a face covering.
  • If that still doesn’t work, remove yourself from the situation and report the incident to the Dean of Students Office.

NDSU is committed to the well-being of our students.  In the event that an NDSU student intentionally puts themselves or others at risk, formal processes are in place for corrective action.  Please become familiar with the Code of Student Conduct.  The Code provides information about student rights and responsibilities.  Our COVID-related safety protocol response will be addressed through Failure to Comply (p. 11) and Endangerment of Individuals (p. 16).

Student organizations that plan events not in alignment with state and university guidelines will also be held responsible through the Code of Student Conduct. Organizations must follow guidelines for Fall Event/Activity Planning.  As seen around the country, hosting or attending large gatherings without thought for the well-being of others will endanger all of us at NDSU.

NDSU needs you to be conscious of the choices you make as we all adjust to the realities of this fall.  Your choices will have a direct impact on not only your health and success, but on the health and success of the entire NDSU community.  Please, #ProtectTheHerd!

Sincerely,

Casey
