Who: TechKids is a program for children in grades 3-5.
What: This 5 week program meets once a week after school. Kids are introduced to different types of science and engineering concepts through hands-on learning. Activities will include building and programming robots, a lesson on rockets which will teach the principles of flight and how the rockets that are sent into space are designed, principles of polymers, buildings and structures, and chemical properties. This program is put on through the College of Engineering and the NDSU Chapters of Tau Beta Pi and Society of Women Engineers. The students who run the program volunteer their time to encourage children to pursue careers in the science and engineering fields.
When: October 18 through November 15. Classes meet Mondays from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Classes are located on campus at NDSU.
Cost: $25 per child.
