Carrie Johnson, Extension personal and family finance specialist and assistant professor of human development and family science, and Somnath Banerjee, assistant professor of marketing, are featured in WalletHub.com stories about selecting a credit card.

In a piece titled “Credit Cards for Fair Credit,” Johnson said it is important to check the Annual Percentage Rate and annual fees when choosing a card. “There is no one size fits all solution,” Johnson is quoted in the article. “Each person needs to determine what is best for them and do their homework.”

Banerjee is quoted in the article called “Rewards Credit Cards.” He said recent research shows many people use cards with reward programs. “There are reward cards related to retail purchases, airlines, etc. Ideally, one is better off choosing the reward credit card which is related to a product category that one uses more often,” Banerjee said in the story.

Johnson earned her bachelor’s degree at Dakota State University, Madison, South Dakota; her master’s degree at South Dakota State University, Brookings; and her doctorate at Iowa State University, Ames. She joined the NDSU faculty in 2016.

Banerjee earned his bachelor’s degree at Patna University, India; Master of Business Administration at International Management Institute-India; and doctorate at the University of Central Florida. He joined the NDSU faculty in 2015.
