Peanut and Tree Nut Dietary Accommodations:

West Dining Center

The West Dining Center is a peanut and tree nut free facility, meaning all food served at the West Dining Center is free of peanut and tree nut ingredients. Students with nut allergies are able to eat at the West Dining Center without worry.

The West Dining Center houses the Clean Eats station, which serves meals free of the top 9 allergens (including peanuts & tree nuts). This station serves full meals during lunch and dinner, as well as a continental breakfast offering in the morning.

Union Market, Food Court, Catering, and Micro Market at Barry Hall

Peanuts and tree nuts are occasionally used in the kitchen serving the Union Market, Food Court, Catering, and the Micro Market at Barry Hall. Food containing peanuts or tree nuts will be identified on the food labels, the catering menu, or on the NDSU Dining mobile app. Please speak with a Dining staff member if you have any questions or concerns.

Menu Labeling

When it comes to learning more about the ingredients in foods served at the dining centers, NDSU Dining displays nutrition labels online for all of our menu items. The menus can be accessed online or on the NDSU Dining mobile app.

The West Dining Center and the Residence Dining Center also use digital menu boards that display the menu and allergen icons above each food station so guests can view the menu and quickly identify which foods (if any) contain nuts.

Overall, NDSU Dining has done a lot to reduce the usage of peanuts and tree nuts in the dining centers. In the Residence Dining Center, guests will see that nuts are not served often, but when they are served, they can be found in the peanut butter, Nutella, Reese’s Puffs cereal, a few desserts, and some additional offerings.
