Apply for Council Membership

Invitation to apply for membership on the NDSU Agriculture Council for Access and Opportunity

To: NDSU All Agriculture
From: Greg Lardy, Joe and Norma Peltier VP for Agriculture
Date: December 2, 2025

Colleagues,

NDSU Agriculture is committed to fostering access and opportunity across our teaching, research, and extension mission. One way to support this work is by serving on the NDSU Agriculture Access and Opportunity Council. The Council’s mission is to support a system that recognizes and values individual and community differences in meaningful ways, strengthening our land-grant mission.

The benefits of serving a three-year term on the Council include opportunities to:

  • Provide input and direction to NDSU Agriculture on programs and processes that enhance access and opportunity throughout the system.
  • Learn from a wide range of perspectives and programs provided by NDSU and partners.
  • Network with other professionals from across the organization who are dedicated to increasing opportunities for all.
  • Have a voice, help others learn, and broaden your own knowledge and understanding.
  • Make a difference and create positive change.
  • Help engage and meet the needs of all North Dakotans.

The Council meets regularly (schedule and duration of meetings decided by council each January), and we invite employees affiliated with the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station; NDSU Extension; and the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources to apply for membership. A description of the Council’s work is attached.

If you are interested in serving a three-year term on the Council, please send a brief statement (250 words or less) describing your interest in the Council’s work and why you believe it is important. Please email your statement to Janelle Quam at Janelle.quam@ndsu.edu by Tuesday, December 23.

New Council members will be selected by a working group of administrators from across units within Agriculture. Applications are encouraged from individuals representing the wide range of appointments, roles, experiences, and interests across our units.

Current Council members include Holly Arnold, Paula Comeau, Elizabeth Cronin, Jim Gray, Emily How, Sue Isbell, Krishna Katuwal, Mohamed Khan, Arlan Littlewolf, Febina Mathew, Carlos Pires, David Ripplinger, Guillermo Scaglia, Madeleine Smith, Jill Sokness, Jan Stankiewicz, Brooke Thiel, and Shannon Ueker.

Thank you for your commitment to access and opportunity.

Sincerely,

Greg Lardy
