Call for Proposals

SBARE Call for Proposals

September 12, 2025

The State Board of Agricultural Research and Education (SBARE) is calling for research proposals for fiscal year 2025-2026. Funding for the research comes through the Agricultural Research Fund (ARF). The ARF is funded from an imposed tax upon the gross receipts of retailers from all sales at retail, including the leasing or renting, of farm machinery or irrigation equipment used exclusively for agricultural purposes and state general fund appropriations.

For the current fiscal year, a total of $658,453 is available for grants. This amount is distributed among 11 commodity-based granting committees based on percentages of cash receipts from farm marketings from the previous fiscal year.

We have been able to collect the data needed to determine the grant dollars available to each granting committee and have provided those amounts below.

***All submissions of proposals for SBARE funds for 2025-2026 will be electronic.*** Submit a PDF copy to: cshorey@ndarec.com
