Faculty and Staff Awards
The NDSU Agriculture Faculty and Staff awards program recognizes exceptional performance by faculty and staff members in the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources; North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station; and NDSU Extension.

- Awards Ceremony: Thursday, December 3, 2026, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. (CST), Oceti Sakowin Ballroom A, NDSU Memorial Union, Fargo, ND
Award Categories and Descriptions
Award criteria vary by category, so please read the descriptions carefully. If you have questions about selecting the appropriate category for a nominee, contact the VP for Agriculture Office at ndsu.vpag@ndsu.edu or 701-231-7655. For questions regarding the job bands or award eligibility, contact your supervisor's office or kris.holt@ndsu.edu in the Ag Budget Office.
Eligibility
- Previous recipients may be nominated for the same category if they have not received that award within the past five years.
- Nominations may be submitted by any employee.
- Departments or units are limited to one nominee per award category.
- An individual may be nominated for only one award each year.
- Additional Eligibility Notes
- Staff affiliated with the Agriculture Business Center are eligible.
- Staff in the Accounting Service Center are not eligible because they belong to a separate unit.
- Professional advisors serving CAFSNR students are eligible for the William J. and Angelyn A. Austin Excellence in Advising Award.
- Award nominations must be submitted through units within NDSU Agriculture.
- The Dahl, Lund, and AGSCO awards require more than 10 years of service. Employees beginning their 11th year of service are eligible, provided they meet all other award criteria.
Award Recognition
Recipients of the research, teaching, advising, Extension and staff awards will receive a $1,000 honorarium.
The recipient(s) of the Access and Opportunity Award will receive $2,000 in a local fund to support continued innovation in access and opportunity, equity, and comprehensive programming.
Nomination Process
- All nominations must be submitted online.
- Nominations may be submitted by any employee but are limited to one nominee per department or unit for each award category.
- Previous award recipients may be nominated again in the same category after five years.
- Individuals may be nominated for only one of the 11 awards annually.
- Nominators may save their progress and return later using the unique URL provided in the confirmation email.
- Required fields must be completed before the form can be saved or submitted. If you use placeholder information, be sure to update it before final submission.
