NEW Teaching and Learning Mini-Virtual-Conference to Be Held May 25, 2021

What will you learn at this new teaching and learning conference?

The Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) and the Learning and Applied Innovation Center (LAIC) invite faculty and instructors to participate in a new Teaching and Learning Mini-Virtual-Conference to be held May 25, 2021, from 9 a.m. to Noon via Zoom. The goal of this end-of-year conference is to inspire you as you prepare for your 2021-2022 school year courses.

This conference offers three tracks in the following topic areas:

  • Responsive Practices,
  • Transitioning, and
  • Strategies and Techniques.

Participants can choose one track for all three concurrent sessions or may choose presentations from any of the tracks based on their personal interest. Presentations will address issues of empathy in teaching, alternatives to traditional grading, the power of asynchronous learning, cultivating a resilient campus, universal design for learning, and what higher education will look like post-pandemic.

Other sessions will include a 5-minutes of fame opportunity to discuss what worked well in your class this past year, new teaching certification courses available at NDSU, results of the CARES Instructional Design projects, and an overview of where OTL and LAIC can assist in your teaching. Winners of the Innovation in HyFlex Teaching and Inspiring Colleague awards will be announced at this conference.

The conference will be held online via Zoom this year due to the ongoing pandemic. This conference is FREE and open to all faculty and instructors regardless of their campus affiliation. All participants must pre-register. Registered participants will receive the special Zoom link via email prior to the conference.
