Students Returning to NDSU
Welcome back! We are excited that you are returning to NDSU.
Undergraduate students returning after a leave of absence of at least one full semester (excluding summer) or after an academic suspension will need to submit the Undergraduate Reactivation Petition .
Graduate level students must contact the College of Graduate School and Interdisciplinary Studies.

Outgoing Transfer Students
We are sad to see you go! If you have any reservations about your decision, please reach out to your Academic Advisor for guidance. And if you should change your mind later, you are welcome to return and rejoin the NDSU community.
- If you are registered for the current or a future semester, complete and submit the Cancel/Withdraw to Zero Credits form before the semester deadline.
- Log in to Campus Connection and confirm that your student account balance is $0.00.
- Request that a final, official transcript be sent to the new school.
- If you utilize federal financial aid, log in to the FAFSA website and replace NDSU’s school code (002997) with the Federal School Code for your new college/university.
- If applicable, notify your private loan lender that you’ll be transferring to another institution.
- If you received federal loans, complete Loan Exit Counseling within 30 days of leaving NDSU.
- Check out of your residence hall or apartment and be sure to cancel any future housing agreements you may have in place with Residence Life.
- Unlimited access dining plans will be automatically cancelled during the withdrawal process.
- Return your parking permit to the Parking and Transportation Services office to for a partial refund, if applicable.
