Appeal Deadlines

Appeal e-Form Availability and Deadlines:

The deadlines below apply to students who are on Financial Aid Disqualification for low GPA, less than 67% Completion of Credits, or exceeding Maximum Attempted Credits/Time Frame.

2023 Fall Semester:

  • The deadline to submit an appeal for financial aid for the 2023 fall semester was September 8, 2023.

2024 Spring Semester:

  • The deadline to submit an appeal for financial aid for the 2024 spring semester was February 1, 2024.
  • To request approval to submit a late appeal, email your name, ID number, and a brief explanation of the circumstances that prevented you from meeting the original deadline to kristie.myers@ndsu.edu.

2024 Summer Semester:

  • The appeal e-Form for the 2024 summer semester will be available April 26, 2024.
  • The deadline to submit an appeal for financial aid for the 2024 summer semester is June 7, 2024.

Students with an INFO status on Campus Connection may submit a Maximum Attempted Credits/Time Frame Appeal e-Form as late as two weeks prior to the last day of the semester. For the 2023-24 academic year, those dates are:

  • Fall — 12/1/2023
  • Spring — 4/26/2024
  • Summer — 7/19/2024
     

Financial Aid Disqualification Appeal Form

Submit this appeal form if you have been disqualified from financial aid for:

  • Grade Point Average (GPA) less than 2.0 (or 3.0 for graduate students)
  • Successful completion of Attempted Credits less than 67%

Maximum Attempted Credits/Time Frame Appeal

Complete the Maximum Attempted Credits/Time Frame Appeal form if either status below applies:

  • Financial Aid Disqualification due to exceeding the maximum attempted credits/time frame limit.
  • Financial Aid INFO status for nearing the maximum attempted credits/time frame limit.

Students appealing disqualification for exceeding the maximum attempted credits/time frame or INFO status and another disqualifying criteria such as cumulative GPA or 67% successful completion of credits, must submit BOTH forms.

​Maximum Attempted Credits/Time Frame Appeal

Not sure which form to use?

  1. Submit the Financial Aid Disqualification Appeal Form for:
    • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) below 2.0 (or 3.0 for graduate students)
    • Successful cumulative completion of Attempted Credits less than 67%
  2. Submit the Maximum Attempted Credits/Time Frame Appeal Form for:
    • Exceeding the Maximum Attempted Credits for the declared major in an undergraduate degree program
    • Exceeding the Maximum Time Frame/number of semesters needed to complete a masters, or doctorate degree
    • On Financial Aid INFO status and will not graduate at the end of the next semester of enrollment.
  3. If the student is disqualified due to both 1 and 2, both appeal forms must be submitted.
