- NDSU Financial Aid and Scholarships should be notified of all scholarship awards by May 1st each year.
- Selecting scholarship recipients by the end of April each year ensures the greatest positive impact to students by lowering student debt and requiring fewer mid-year financial aid adjustments.
- University policy requires that any scholarship to students must be paid through the NDSU Financial Aid and Scholarships.
New Departmental Scholarship Information
If your department will be issuing a new scholarship please review the Guidelines for Prizes, Promotional Items and Travel Related and Educational Required Expenses and complete the New Scholarship Request Form and return it prior to awarding scholarships by emailing them to Michelle Marks or through inter-campus mail. New scholarships will not be paid to students prior to the completion of this form.
Payment for Student Travel
The Payment for Student Travel form must be submitted with any student travel payment that is being paid with an Accounts Payable Voucher or as a scholarship. The purpose of completing the form is to determine the primary beneficiary. If the primary beneficiary is NDSU, the payment is deemed business-related and should be processed on an Accounts Payable Voucher through Accounting. If the primary beneficiary is the student (i.e. the primary purpose of the travel is to provide an educational benefit to the student), the payment should be processed as a scholarship through the Financial Aid Office.
