In the mental and emotional health project, youth explore ways they can reduce and manage their stress to improve and help keep them mentally and emotionally healthy.

OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE
  • Take an online course in stress management .
  • Visit the Mental Health America website and read The New Young Mental Health Leaders Council Report.
  • Take a Mental Health Test (Mental Health America online).
  • Invite a professional in your area to talk about teens' mental health.
  •  Interview a counselor or therapist about their role in supporting others who are trying to reduce stress in their lives.
  • Find a physical activity that will help you reduce stress like yoga, walking, or biking; try it for a couple of weeks and check for improvements.
  • Volunteer to help others in your community who are dealing with stress.
CAREERS

There are many careers that you can further explore in the areas of mental and emotional health! Helping others can take many forms; psychologists, therapists, and social workers all play a crucial role in helping others. Some other careers that you may have not considered are yoga instructors, life coaches, clergy, or school counselors!
