Plan a fun run for your community and donate proceeds to a local charity, lead your 4-H club in a service learning project, become a youth representative of a community or state board or your county’s 4-H council.

Develop a yearly template and plan for your club’s service learning activities, connect with local media outlets to write articles that focus on the work of nonprofit and volunteer groups in your community, or speak to local decision makers about the impacts of your service learning project.

Develop a business idea that helps market non-profit projects, plan a community event that highlights local community organizations.

Help senior citizens learn to use technology, volunteer to teach a STEAM lesson at an afterschool club or in your 4-H club, offer to create social media materials for a local volunteer event.

Extension Youth Conference, Communication Arts contest, National 4-H conference and Congress.

Lead your club in brainstorming needs you see in your community and list service-learning ideas your 4-H Club could do to address these needs.

Example:

Need: You notice many older people in your community are lonely and not connected with younger generations.

Service Idea: Your 4-H club plans a multi-generational event where 4-H club members and older community members come together to share stories about the community and life lessons.
